A much needed reward after a particularly tough day of substitute teaching.

My hats goes off to M-F teachers. I just want to collapse after 2 days of it each week.

Curses on the public laundromat!

I know a majority of church yesterday was about loving the time in our lives that we are in now and not waiting on the future so much, but I live for the day when we have our own washer and dryer! I am grateful for the nice neighborhood we live in, but I'm tired of the laundromat. Tired of machines that refuse to work. Tired of questionable gunk that must be cleaned out before allowing my clothes inside. Tired of floors that are forever muddy and flooded.

Maybe next time I should just plan to do laundry on a day that is not Saturday or Monday.

P.S. On a happier note, the key lime pie was a hit! So easy and so so delicious!

Hamlet

Back to the USA.
Back to work.
And back to school.

I have to read Hamlet by Monday.
Oh and write a paper on it.

So in my reading (via Sparknotes), I found this gem:

“Doubt thou the stars are fire,
Doubt that the sun doth move,
Doubt truth to be a liar,
  But never doubt I love."

Isn't that beautiful? Thank you for the pleasant surprise Shakespeare.

P.S. Update: I finished Hamlet. I am sorry to all the Shakespeare enthusiasts out there, but that was just terrible.

A Studying Saturday

A little glimpse of Canada. We leave for Ontario a week from tomorrow!

I had big plans to get a lot of my online class done today.

But a few things got in the way.

Farmers Market with Holly.
Fail. But we'll try again in a few weeks.

Festival of Books.

Observing local wildlife.
Really procrastinating at this point.

Neighborhood barbecue.

Scooter ride with Kennedy.

Watching a little House.

Oh, and blogging.

P.S. My laptop is finally taking some of its lasts breaths. Maybe a Mac is in our near-ish future!

Big swelling on Sunday!

I got all four wisdom teeth removed last Friday.
They didn't put me under, instead, I was numbed and put on laughing gas.
I liked having my head and knowing what was going on.
But laughing gas is weird. It felt like I didn't have a body. I know, weird.
I have such a cool dentist. (Thanks Aunt Carol!) I watched Toy Story 2 while he pulled my teeth.
I won't gross you out with a photo of my teeth, but they were HUGE!

The worst part of numbing is still being that way even a few hours after I had left the dentist office.
He told me to take some pain meds before the numbness wore off.
Instead, I just choked on water.
But I count myself lucky with the little pain I've had.

The most annoying thing?
Only eating soft foods...while only chewing with my front teeth.
I've begun to crave sandwiches...of all things!

Big thanks to Aunt Janet and Uncle Kim for the yogurt, apple sauce and Gatorade.
The Georges were life-savers as usual!

My swelling was worst on Sunday...since then it's been little to none.
Yet Nate says he is starting to forget what my face looked like before. Sad!

Can't wait to be able to eat a cookie again! Woo!

Four Papers

Monday, March 7, 2011

Blogging will be sparse for me this week as I have four papers to write.
(Two of which I have not started).
I swear I'm a good student...just not awesome at planning ahead.

When I'm back from the depths of the library...where I should be all week...I'll give an update about our weekend in Vegas!

In the meantime, check out Eagle Condor Humanitarian's blog about the children they support!

P.S. I did take a minute today and updated my address for the Tucano's Birthday Club.
Yeah, it's pretty important.

P.P.S. My link: "I Believe" actually links to my own mormon.org profile page now! :)

Trouble

And when I mean trouble...I mean addictions to technology.

iPhone is now available for Verizon.

We can't afford it...but oh how I crave the beautiful sleekness and organization it would offer to my life. Not to mention the photo quality. I must be distracted from this possibility before I spend our savings!!
