Autumn
Saturday, September 1, 2012
This will be my fourth autumn in Utah.
Only this time, I'm not buying books.
Not meeting new professors.
Not buying highlighters or organizing my schedule.
Not reading research articles.
Not writing papers.
No, none of those things.
This autumn, I am cradling my baby.
I am singing and humming lullabies.
I'm learning to breastfeed.
I'm nesting.
I'm shushing and cuddling.
I'm kissing soft cheeks.
This autumn, I'm not a student, I'm a mother.

What a sweet post! Being a mother is so rewarding!! Love you!
ReplyDeleteIsnt it interesting how life changes. How when we are in school, we think it will never change, school drones on forever? I miss Provo in the Fall! Enjoy this time with your little one:)
