Adventures: Conference Picnic

Monday, October 3, 2011

Like I mentioned on Friday, I met Nate after his bike ride in Hobble Creek Canyon to listen to General Conference on the radio. We found a cozy spot by a creek in Kelly's Grove, listened to General Conference and ate some lunch. (If you are interested, you can look at the end of this post for directions).
I wish we could make this a tradition every Conference, but this is the last Conference that we will be in Utah. And I doubt any other place has Conference on the radio :)
Nate, after battling with a flat on his bike. Of course he had a spare tube...always so prepared.
Gorgeous fall colors! If anyone is wondering why I love Utah, this is one of the main reasons.
One of my favorite talks was by Elder David A. Bednar about doing family history work. He really inspired me to do more of that! And I know I have the time, I just to prioritize!

Have a good Monday! My goal is to have fewer posts this week so that I spend more time on homework, but I will have an update on the bike tomorrow!

P.S. Did you hear that the Provo Tabernacle is being restored to make a second temple in Provo?? We are stoked!

Directions for Kelly's Grove park:
1. If you are coming from Provo: take 900 E south and when it ends, turn left onto State St to go to Springville.
2. Turn left at 400 S in Springville (at the Little Caesars)
3. Turn right onto Canyon Rd/1330 E
4. Continue on Canyon Rd. Kelly's Grove is on your right directly past the golf course.
5. Also, there are several more parks if you keep going up the canyon!
